SUMMARY:Geneva Peace Week: Voices of Hope, Actions for Peace
DESCRIPTION:\n \nBeyond Numbers, Beyond Names, Women Driving Peace and Justice, a part of World YWCA’s #BulletAndDove initiative.\nGeneva Peace Week is an annual event that brings together various stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academics, and civil society, to discuss and promote the advancement of peace and conflict resolution. \nHeld in Geneva, Switzerland, a global hub for international diplomacy and humanitarian efforts, Geneva Peace Week serves as a platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration on pressing global issues related to peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and sustainable development. The overarching theme for the 10th anniversary of the Geneva Peace Week (GPW) is “Building Trust, Building Peace: An Agenda for the Future.” \nDuring Geneva Peace Week, World YWCA will showcase a documentary amplifying the voices of eight young women leading change in conflict-torn and post-conflict zones.  World YWCA believes their leadership is essential to promoting non-violence and achieving peace and justice. Through insightful interviews, World YWCA will shed light on the challenges faced by several young women leaders in Afghanistan, Iran, South Sudan, Uganda, Egypt, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Ukraine and Palestine. Zooming in on their experiences, the documentary will capture poignant moments where YWCAs lead discussions exploring peace, justice, and SGBV themes. \nWith a keen eye on the underrepresented, underrecognised or often marginalised, we will also unravel new emerging threats in a world where digital trolling has high impact on vulnerable communities, particularly on mental health. This work is aligned with and falls under the World YWCA’s #BulletAndDove campaign work.\n\n\n
